About the Department
The Department of Zoology was established in 2023 with the aim of enhancing education, research, and conservation efforts related to diverse animal life. In today's context, there is a demand for traditional zoologists equipped with a modern approach, capable of proficiently navigating different branches of Zoology. Based on the outlined objectives, the department offers a job-oriented, skill-based Master's degree program in the field of Zoology. This program aims to develop a proficient workforce and dedicated educators and researchers by utilizing traditional practices. The inclusion of seminars, self-directed study, and presentations are crucial elements within this course, facilitating a profound grasp of the subject matter and enabling students to tackle challenges independently. The curriculum focuses on areas such as cell biology and genetics, biosystematics, molecular biology, evolution, biodiversity, ecology, and animal physiology. M.Sc. Zoology offers a wide range of career opportunities, including roles as research scientists, wildlife biologists, conservation biologists, educators, environmental consultants, and more, in academia, research institutions, zoos, NGOs, government agencies, and private companies. The degree equips individuals to explore diverse paths involving studying and protecting animals and their habitats, thereby positively impacting society and the well-being related to this evolving field.
